Start the Countdown

Do you know when you get so excited and you can't sit still? I feel like that right now. I am ready to start the countdown to a warm, tropical, beautiful vacation. I must tell you that this will not be any vacation, but my first time out of the country (minus that one time I went to Niagara Falls, before you needed passports). I just got my passport in the mail, and am feeling free. I can go anywhere I want.

This is also not like any other vacation, because it will be very secluded and I will be spending it with some very special people in my life. My amazing friends. Since I will be in 90 degree weather, I have decided to search for some easy pieces to pack in my backpack for the trip.

And I found this passport cover that I so desperately want. I feel that yellow would be easy to find in my bag, especially on days that I carry oversized purses.

Winter Whites

So, today was a beautiful day for antiquing, material shopping, and just being around. My roommate and I went to this great antique shop today around the corner from us and I found beautiful sheet music. I couldn't help but purchase a few to matte frame. You can check out the sheet music art at my shop.

The sun was shining, but as the day went on, the Rochester weather was coming back and it started to get bitter cold. Luckily we have not been having snow this winter, which is good and bad. I do love snow when I am cuddled up in front of a fire and not out in the cold air.

Walking Downtown

Some new, some old friends have been reintroducing me to the city I call home. It's silly how you can live somewhere for years and just never realize the places, the treasures, around you. I seem to get stuck in a groove where I simply forget that I should travel around the city, try new foods, try new activities, meet new people. I am so thankful for these friends, who have pulled me back out of my shell.

One of my favorite coffee shops around the city is Java's. It is a very artsy and sometimes a crowded place. I haven't been able to go very often, but I hope that changes. Today, it was perfect, because we were able to go in and get our delicious vanilla lattes and hit the side alley the take these pictures.

Next, I would love to make a trip next door to go to Eastman Theatre and see a show.

I love that this dress reminds me of a ballerina. I want so badly to go see a ballet.

New apartment = new things

It's about that time for me to be constantly busy. I love being busy but I cannot wait to have that place I can go to where the world can just even for a few moments. Some place where I can pause.

I have been scouring the sites to see what new items have come out that I can place into my new room.

I'm sorry it took me this long

It seems like it has been forever since I last wrote. Even though it hasn't been forever it has been about 2 months. I have been going through a rough patch with many changes over the past couple of months, but I am back.

I can't wait to catch up and keep posting looks, food and flea market home finds. I am going to be traveling this winter, which will hopefully give me some new backdrops for you all.

While I haven't been actually taking pictures lately, I have been browsing for fall shopping! We were getting some cold weather here in NY, so I had pulled out sweaters and tights, but today we had a warm day, so I could wear shorts! I was so very excited, but the cold weather is coming. I can't wait to start wearing some of my pretty tights I bought last year.

Here is a look that I was inspired by thinking of my past with a modern twist. When I was younger I used to want to be just like Shirley Temple. I loved her looks and I wanted some day to dress like her because she was so beautiful and they had such great fashion back then.

Work In Progress

Hey Everyone!

Sorry I went missing for about a week or so, it was a very hectic week and a half. My best friends got married this weekend and we had a lot of crafting to do, parties to have, and fun.

I just got back into some quilting and it is a great feeling. I love crafting, but Amanda's wedding pushed me more towards making some quilts for this winter.

Here are some pictures of Caeden and I today.

The Sun Will FInd You Underneath Your Skin

A couple weeks ago I went to the annual Corn Hill Arts Festival and walked around in the scorching heat trying to find something interesting to take home. I came across quite a few items that I wanted, but nothing that I could see making the purchase for, that is until I saw the booth for Excessary. They had this adorable dress that I couldn't help but walk up to. As soon as I saw the dress up close and felt the material I knew it would come handy in during a hot day. It's also based out of Rochester, which I thought was great.

Today was one of those days.

The dress is perfectly thin, cut just right and has this adorable exposed zipper which is my favorite.
